MONSTER JUICE FOR YOUR G1 May 31, 2009
By bigboy
"bryan robertson"
I received this battery over a week ago and, so far, I'm impressed.
The first thing I did notice when I opened the box is that it was a Cameron Sino and NOT a Seidio Innocell battery. This bothers me very little as I am accustomed to receiving or purchasing products in this manner. The packaging was easy to open which is a huge plus for me (getting cut trying to open sealed plastic cartons just pisses me off)!
I was fortunate enough to get the raised cover when the other reviews I've read recv'd the one thar has a hump on it.
But enough about that, let's get down to it. This battery, when set on 3G networks, can last you literally, LITERALLY all day. Add'l setting possibly longer depending on individual use.
This is an account of my daily use:
>2 hrs of music streaming w/light web browsing
>3-4 hrs of personal and business calls (all our Nextel phones are busted)
>2 more hrs of music streaming + web browsing on the way home leaving about 18% juice. Sweeett!!
I have two suggestions for furure updates to this wonderful product. 1. The exposed opening for the camera lens could use a clear, protective cover. If anything sharp or wet goes down there, you're screwed. 2. There should be some sort of sound port for the speaker as well. Reason being is the sound coming from the old cover is a lot louder (swap out the covers and hear for yourself).
Overall, this is a great product and would recommend this to anyone. That is, if you can overlook THOSE two imperfections.

Great product for great price May 02, 2009
By Wadood Chaudhary It doubles the capacity and comfortably takes me through the day with all guns fiiring. Previously I have to compromise on many things and still was left stranded. Few things that I tested:
Typical usage - phone calls + email + 1 hour audio (3G always on) 2 days
Heavy usage: 5 hours of streaming music on wifi
Medium Heavy usage: 1 hour of streaming audio +1 hour of Camera + 1 hour of GPS + 2 hours of browser + regular phone usage and at the end battery still showed 35%.
Also, the charging time via wall charger is same as for the regular battery; however, USB charging via computer takes considerably longer.
In short a great product for unbelievable price. I also like somewhat the bulk it adds. Just make the phone more easy to handle. G1 PHONE was anyhow never a slimline product and it is not that few mms will no more render it pocketable. Actually after a while you do not notice it anymore. However, it adds somewhat to weight which I felt for a week but now it does not feel much different or bothersome. Ofcourse your iPhone friend would immediately dismiss it as 'too bulky'
In my case if I had not gotten the extended battery I'd have to shelve the product. Whenever I needed the damn thing it was without juice. What was the point of 3G, GPS, streaming radio, push email when you do not backup it with adequate battery power?

Received a different model. Jan 23, 2009
By J. Mcghee

The model in the photo and the one I received are different.
First, the bad. The battery in the photo gives you the idea it is a quality battery and the one received is noticeably made in China.
Now the good and the ugly. The back is also not the same. In the photo the entire backing is raised. On the one I received it looks more like Quasimodo. A hump in the back. While some what ugly and misshapen the ridge created fits perfectly against the ring finger when holding it. So in effect it is like having a little anchor point to your hand and you don't have to grasp it by the sides any longer.
So over all I am happy. I'll be back if the battery doesn't hold a good charge over time.

I love this! Dec 09, 2009
By J. Drouillard This battery makes a huge difference in the life of my G1 compared to the battery it came with. I text and surf the net on the 45 minute train ride to and from work each day, and often when out in the evenings.
The past: I would start in the morning with a fully charged battery, and it would be somewhere around 50% left when I got to work, so I ended up having a second charger at work because the phone would go dead on the way home, or very near dead. This was all from surfing the net and a little texting. I would have to make sure I fully charged it at work or else if I were using it in the evening when going out it would go dead as well if I didn't limit my usage, which was a pain because I have an unlimited data and text plan.
The present: I can surf the net all the way to work, a few times at work, do some texting, then surf the net all the way home and it still is somewhere around 70% charged. It's the way it should have been in the first place!
It did make my phone thicker with the case (it's the full length of the phone), but I don't mind it. I didn't buy the phone for being thin, and it still slides right in my pants pocket. It actually makes
texting with the keyboard a little easier for me.
I love not having to worry about the battery going dead on my phone when I go out all day/night and use it as I want. I hated having to worry about it, limit my usage and/or carry a charger and look for a plug in a bar or restaurant.
If the phone had come with this battery and at this size when I first looked at it, I wouldn't have hesitated to still get the phone, and I wouldn't have had any battery complaints.
