I'm not going to go into great detail on this one, as it does what it says.
A red light appears on the charger when you plug it into the iPod's 32-pin dock connector. The normal charging bar appears, and you can use it while its charging. And that's about all.
I have had no problems with this product, a steady, worthwhile buy.

For several months this product behaved perfect. Red light came on and my iPod would charge. Then one day I discovered my iPod was not charging. At first I feared it was the battery of my iPod, but it turned out to be the charger. Red light still comes on but it no longer charges. I've tried it in two different car ports.
I finally went to Wal-mart and brought a new charger. Lesson learned: if something is offered extremely cheaply online, it is probably because it is cheaply made. If you want quality products, then you must pay quality bucks.

Given the price of this charger I was skeptical as to how well it would work, in fact, I almost passed it by. I opted to give it a try and am now very happy with its performance. It powers my iPod Classic and provides enough juice to charge up the battery at the same time. The build quality is quite acceptable and it does the job. What more can you ask for ?
