3Not the Sony quality I was looking for...  Aug 20, 2009 By Addicted2Tech
I purchased these earbuds based on a recommendation from a representative on the Sony website through their live-chat. I wanted a comparable sounding set of earbuds to my old MDR-ED228's to use with my Blackberry Curve (and now iPhone 3G) that had an in-line microphone. When I received them, I found that the extension cord, the part with the microphone, would only work with a Sony-Ericsson phone (it had quick-port connector, not the standard 3.5mm male jack). The wires to the earbuds are also very thin and made out of a "rubbery" material (they don't look too durable). In addition, the wire to the right earbud is quite a bit longer than the one for left side, leaving a lot of slack when worn in front of the neck (it's not quite long enough to wear behind the neck). As for the sound quality, NOT EVEN CLOSE to my previous Sony's! I've tried the different size ear-gels, but still have to keep adjusting them every so often, as they have a tendency to come loose. I use them at the Gym and expected them to block out most of the loud background music, but with the fit problems, they really don't. I also have a pair of Skull Candy Asym's and although the highs aren't as good, they have substantially more bass and don't have the fit problems that the Sony's do. Better sounding than most OE earbuds, but there are better choices available for the money.

3Not Bad, But Could Be Better  Dec 29, 2011 By M. Johnson
PROS:
1. There are different size ear pieces that you can use in order to find a good fit
2. The length of the cord is nice and long
3. The sound quality when talking on the phone is excellent

CONS:
1. The ear pieces are made of a material that is not very comfortable
2. The sound quality when listening to music is disappointing. I expected more from Sony

Overall, these are decent headphones that could be excellent if the sound quality and comfort were better. Tough to complain for the cost!

5Worth the purchase  Jun 28, 2011 By K. Johnson
I'm on my third set of these HPM-77 earbuds\headphones from Sony, having ordered it twice from the The OEM shop. Through faults of my own, I've destroyed the first two and have learn to give great consideration to the cord-- the entire cord (between the earbuds and the jack to the phone, which in my case, I own a W518a Sony Ericsson). Don't let it drag on concrete and be mindful of dancing with it, as you may make a move and rip one earbud from its connection point on the cord. As fragile as the HPM-77 may be, it best coorinates with my phone in terms of style and design, so this is the primary reason I have purchased it 3 times thus far. If this third purchase turns out to be a charm, then I'm sure I won't destroy the cord this time. Still, for the money, these earbuds also provide excellent sound quality. Highly recommended-- until Sony makes a wireless set that is to my liking in terms of function and design.

5great product  May 24, 2011 By Kalhala
brought this product on the hope that I could use it to plug into my tape deck adapter in my car or use other headphones other than the earbuds that came with the phone. Well the product delivered what I needed it works great. I can now play music in my car and can use comfortable headphones and stop using the earbuds.
