Useful product, but has some quirks Mar 10, 2007
By M. J. Grumet I own a Nokia 2126i Tracfone and later bought a 6101 Tmobile-to-Go, both of which are compatible with this cable. The cable comes with the driver on CD. The Nokia program is downloadable. As it says in the instructions, you should install the driver before installing the Nokia program. Although the driver instructions called for attaching the cable without the phone, it seems like Windows could not recognize it until I also attached the phone. Anyway, eventually I got it working. I found that I could copy my contacts from the Nokia 2126i to a computer folder. However, after adding more entries into the phone, trying this again only showed the earlier entries in Windows Explorer. Nokia suggested rebooting both phone and computer, but that didn't help. I eventually found that making a change and changing it back in a contacts entry from Windows Explorer, then telling it to save the file would get it to update the folder in Windows. When I got the 6101 I was able to paste my contacts into it. The time that saved me made this device worthwhile. However, if an address entry had more than one mobile phone number, only one would make it through this process. The other had to be manually transcribed into the new phone. I've had some fun with this cable pasting MIDI files into my Gallery for use as ringtones. Recordings made in the phone are saved as .amr files. These can be copied to the computer using this cable, and the Nokia program plays them.
Update to above: Nokia has updated its software. One noticeable change is that drivers are bundled in, so establishing plug'n'play compatibility is much easier than when I first got this product. The new software seems to have corrected the problem of failing to update its display of the Contacts files. The new software still seems to only see one mobile phone number in contacts who have more than one mobile phone entered in Phonebook in the phone memory.

Worked perfectly! Jan 06, 2007

It worked exactly as it was supposed to. It connected my Nokia phone to my computer via the USB port and I was able to download the photos I had taken with the phone to the computer. It was easy. No complaints. Period.

Buy the Nokia brand Feb 04, 2007
By L. Brooks I have a Nokia 2128i phone. I also originally bought a cheap version of the CA-42 that was advertised to be a Nokia cable, but wasen't. I had a very difficult time with the cheap version driver. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. Invariably the driver had to be reloaded each time after it worked once, what a mess. I finally gave up, and ordered this version, based on the other three reviews.
The true Nokia cable came quickly and worked perfectly the first time and every time after that.

Adapter Cable solved problems Jan 03, 2007
By R. V. Turley I want to say thank you for carrying the Nokia CA-42 Connectivity Adapter Cable for Nokia phones. I purchased a different brand from a "cheaper" site thinking it would work (it had my phone listed as one that should be adaptable). But guess what? It didn't work. I tried everything I knew to do; I tried their help tips; and I finally called. They informed me that my phone wasn't compatible even though it was on their list.
I immediately turned around and ordered the Nokia cable from your site. It was delivered promptly, it was the correct product, and it worked!
I've used Amazon a few times now and have always been pleased with the service. I will continue to use Amazon.com in the future.

Works for me! May 01, 2007
By S.McPherson I have a Nokia 6102i and got this data cable so I could easily move photos from my phone to my computer. The software download was free from Nokia, and after a few minutes I was using the program without any difficulty. I thought this cable was worth the price because now I can take full advantage of all the features my phone has. But I'll let you in on a secret - before you buy, check your local cell phone store first. This cable was only $29 at the Cingular store in town.
