Tired Phone Now Just Like New May 27, 2010
By James K. Beard
"jim_beard"
Over a few years, my Treo 750 slowly and imperceptibly took less and less of a charge, until one hour-long phone call would put it on the edge of winking out. I needed the phone more than I had battery for on an overnight trip and that did it. Rather than a new phone with new plan and hundreds of dollars, and a phone I didn't want or need, I got this genuine Palm battery and, viola, new Treo 750.
When you buy a new Li-Ion battery for anything, you need to look at the manufacture date. Any Li-Ion battery will dry up in about 5 years from date of manufacture, whether on the shelf or in use, so you have about three years of trouble-free heavy use before you need a new battery. A battery that is over a year old from its manufacture date isn't worth the price of a new battery, even if it is in a sealed, unopened package. This battery is fresh. The phone can now handle talking all day, or most or all of a week with occasional short calls, just like a new phone.

palm treo 680 battery Nov 14, 2010
By jj Much better than old one battery. Battery lasts for about a day with minimal phone, realplayer use. And that is with the light set low, and with autooff set short.

OEM works as expected Oct 22, 2010
By Full Service Dad This is the Palm battery for the Palm treo. It works exactly as expected. It fits the phone perfectly and charges without problem using the existing cables. The phone works normally. If you have a failing battery (cannot make it for 12 hrs without a recharge)this will solve the problem.

Palm Treo 680 battery review May 31, 2010
By K. Krehbiel This seller was very fast at shipping the batteries we purchased.
When I had trouble with the battery not charging, I contacted them and they immediately offered a replacement.
Turns out it's my phone, not the battery, that was the problem, so I didn't return it. But I appreciate their fast customer service.
OEM But Flaky. Mar 24, 2012

I have a Treo 680. It came with a battery, part number: 35H00075-00M and type: 157-10051-00 I ordered a replacement battery from CCMACCESSORIES ($16.64 shipped). The battery I received is part number: 35H00062-05M and type: 157-10051-00 Same "type" battery but a different part number.
The "new" battery is flaky in my Treo. If you insert the battery with the phone set to "off", that is when the device boots, only the Palm operating system is active, not the telephone stuff, the battery acts "normal" and takes a charge... all the expected behaviors. If you turn-on the phone part of the Treo you get dropped into a re-boot loop even with an external charger connected.
The original battery does none of that. It works just like you expect. Ergo, the "new" battery is defective.
I will screw around with it for awhile longer and then order another from someone else. I will look for a 3rd party who is making fresh battery packs as I think this all stems from the age of these Palm OEM batteries.
I scored this review at Three Stars as this is a "real" Palm battery and not a clone and the seller really does not have any control over what they receive from their distributor or how the battery preforms after an extended storage period. I understand it's not the function of the product review system to rate sellers however when I have mentioned the seller by name I feel there is a link. I would have rated the battery at one star by it's self.
Update: 03/24/2012 - Battery "says" it's charged when you put it in the cradle but when you put it in the phone, it does not boot the phone. Put the phone (with the defective battery in it) in the cradle and after a few moments the phone boots and then the phone's charge indicator says the battery is charged... unplug the phone and it dies. Reducing the Rating by One Star. Back to using the original battery... ordered another from a different vendor. Not to despite the first vendor but I suspect their inventory is aged and I would get another bad battery. They can keep the money and weather this review, call us even.
